Feliz Navidad Boquillas! Toy Run Across the Rio Grande Marks 3rd Year of Joy and Giving

In a heartwarming display of cross-border camaraderie and holiday spirit, a group of Transpecos residents, led by Fort Stockton teacher Colette ‘Coco’ Barragan, successfully completed the 3rd annual Boquillas Christmas Toy Run on December 22.

This remarkable event saw participants journeying across the Rio Grande with boatloads of gifts, aiming to deliver joy and hope to the children of Boquillas, Mexico.

The gifts, collectively worth thousands of dollars, were donated by hundreds of individuals and organizations, including Big Bend Times, proud to be both a contributor and chronicler of this generous event.
