Blair Park Launches Campaign for Presidio County Attorney with Grand Kickoff Event

In a vibrant display of community support, Democrat Blair Park officially launched her campaign for Presidio County Attorney in a lively kickoff party at the renowned Planet Marfa. The event saw a remarkable turnout of local officials, friends, family, and well-wishers, as Park embarked on her bid to unseat incumbent Rod Ponton.

Park, a Texas Tech Law graduate with a background in corporate law, returned to her roots in Presidio County after gaining valuable experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where she primarily worked on contracts for corporations and governments. Her diverse legal background has led her to believe that she can bring a unique perspective to the role of county attorney.

Surrounded by supporters, including Marfa City Councilman Raul Lara, Presidio County Commissioner Brenda Bentley, and Presidio County Treasurer Frances Garcia, Park highlighted her deep connections to the community and her family’s longstanding presence in the area. Her family’s roots trace back generations, with her father’s family being Irish immigrants who settled in the county in the 1800s, and her mother’s family having indigenous ties to Casa Piedra.

One of the key messages of Park’s campaign is her commitment to the community and her belief that her extensive ties to the area will enable her to excel in the role of county attorney. Her supporters are optimistic about her chances in the upcoming election, citing her dedication to the betterment of Presidio County.

Despite her impressive legal background, Park acknowledges that she has room for growth in the field of criminal law, as her office will be primarily responsible for handling misdemeanors, not felonies. However, she is confident that her expertise in contractual law will prove valuable in her new role, and she is committed to pursuing additional education to bridge any knowledge gaps. She also pledges to approach her responsibilities with impartiality and fairness.

The kickoff event, held at Planet Marfa, drew a massive crowd, with cars lining the streets for over a block in all directions. Park’s family, friends, and members of the legal community turned out in force to show their support, not only from Marfa but also from surrounding counties.

As Blair Park embarks on her campaign journey, the stage is set for a spirited race for the position of Presidio County Attorney. With her unique blend of legal experience, community ties, and a pledge to serve her constituents with dedication, Park is poised to make a strong impact on the upcoming election. Presidio County residents will be closely watching as the campaign unfolds, eager to see who will lead their community forward in the realm of law and justice.
