Ballroom Marfa, a cultural cornerstone in the heart of Marfa, Texas, is ringing in its 20th-year anniversary with a spectacular celebration of art and music. The focal point of this milestone celebration is the highly-anticipated group exhibition, “Perhaps the Truth,” featuring a diverse array of artists whose work will captivate visitors from October 4, 2023, to March 30, 2024.
“Perhaps the Truth” Exhibition: The “Perhaps the Truth” exhibition promises a visual feast for art enthusiasts. It features an impressive lineup of artists, including Alejandro Piñeiro Bello, Jes Fan, Joel Gaitan, Florian Krewer, Rebecca Manson, Ruben Ulises Rodriguez Montoya, Jesse Murry, Robert Nava, Ilana Savdie, Kiki Smith, Astrid Terrazas, Lucía Vidales, and Issy Wood. Their diverse styles and perspectives will converge in a compelling exploration of artistic expression.
The public opening of “Perhaps the Truth” kicks off on Friday, October 6, from 7 to 10 pm. To add a musical dimension to the evening, Dos Santos will perform live in the Ballroom Marfa Courtyard at 9 pm, with doors opening at 8:30 pm. Following the concert, the celebration continues with an afterparty at The Capri at 10 pm, featuring a DJ set by Daniel Villareal.
Opening Weekend Highlights: Saturday, October 7, offers a unique opportunity for art aficionados. From 12 to 1:30 pm, join a curator-led walkthrough of “Perhaps the Truth” with Fairfax Dorn and Daisy Nam. This insightful tour will also include poetry readings from Arden Wohl and Emmy Pérez, adding a literary dimension to the artistic experience.
