READ Marfa Seeks Volunteers for Fall Reading Program at Marfa Elementary

The Marfa Public Library is calling on community members to lend their voices and time for its upcoming fall reading aloud program, READ Marfa, at Marfa Elementary School. Running from October 9th to November 17th, this initiative aims to promote literacy and foster a love for reading among local students.

Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young minds by reading to small groups of students for 30 minutes each week. The flexible scheduling allows volunteers to choose a time that suits their availability, making it a convenient way to give back to the community.

The program seeks individuals who are passionate about reading and eager to engage with young learners. No previous teaching experience is required; all that’s needed is a love for books and a desire to inspire young readers.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer for the fall reading aloud program, you can get involved by contacting the Marfa Public Library at (432) 729-4631 or via email at readmarfa@gmail.com. Your participation will contribute to the educational growth and development of Marfa’s future generations.

This initiative not only benefits the students but also strengthens the bonds within the Marfa community. It’s a wonderful opportunity for individuals of all ages to share their love of literature and make a lasting difference in the lives of local children.
