Presidio Police Department Acquires New 2023 Chevy Tahoe Through Federal Stonegarden Grant

The Presidio Police Department has reinforced its commitment to border security with the recent acquisition of a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle (Tahoe PPV), made possible by a Federal Stonegarden Grant. This strategic addition to their fleet demonstrates the collaborative efforts between local and federal agencies to fortify U.S. border safety.

The newly acquired 2023 Chevy Tahoe PPV, available at a base price of $48,450 for the 4×2 model and $51,450 for the 4×4 model, is equipped with a robust 5.3L V8 engine capable of reaching a top speed of 140 mph. Designed to cater to the demands of law enforcement, the front seats of the Tahoe PPV are thoughtfully crafted to accommodate duty belts, ensuring comfort during extended patrols. Its spacious interior and heavy-load handling capabilities further emphasize its utility in law enforcement scenarios.

Funded through a Federal Stonegarden Grant facilitated by the Operation Stonegarden program, overseen by the State Homeland Security Grants division and managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), this acquisition showcases the Presidio Police Department’s dedication to leveraging federal resources to enhance their operational capacity. The grant allows the department to utilize funds for personnel-related expenses, overtime, vehicle rentals, mileage, and fuel costs, as well as essential equipment deployment. It is important to note that the base price mentioned is exclusive of any upfitting costs for additional equipment such as radios, computers, and other law enforcement tools.

With the introduction of the 2023 Chevy Tahoe PPV, the Presidio Police Department is poised to elevate its border security efforts, benefiting from the vehicle’s performance capabilities and spacious design.
