Yesterday, the tranquil ambience of DB’s Rustic Iron BBQ on Terlingua Ghostown Rd had a touch of Hollywood. The film crew from Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) visited the establishment to interview its proprietor concerning an exciting occurrence last December. A group of black bears had notably visited the restaurant, marking a unique interaction between nature and local business.
The interview will be a part of the “Bears of West Texas” documentary, shedding light on the thriving bear population in the region and their relationship with the local community. The feature is slated for a PBS premiere next year.
DB’s Rustic Iron BBQ, often known for its rich barbecue flavors and now for its furry December visitors, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the narrative of West Texas wildlife. The restaurant’s brush with these majestic creatures is expected to add a unique perspective to the TPWD documentary, showcasing how nature occasionally intertwines with everyday life in Terlingua.
Keep an eye out for the “Bears of West Texas” on PBS next year to get a glimpse of the vibrant bear life in West Texas and the memorable interaction at DB’s Rustic Iron BBQ.
