Join “Cleanup on the Rio” and Make a Difference on National Public Lands Day

In celebration of National Public Lands Day, Big Bend Ranch State Park-Texas Parks and Wildlife invites volunteers to be part of the nation’s most significant single-day volunteer event for public lands. This event aims to ensure the pristine nature of Big Bend Ranch State Park is maintained for generations to come.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 23, 2023
  • Time: Starting at 8 AM
  • Meeting Point: La Cuesta Campground

What to Expect:

Dedicate a full day to restoring the beauty of Big Bend Ranch State Park. Collaborate with park staff and other passionate volunteers in the cleanup mission, making tangible efforts to protect the park’s natural heritage.

Preparation Guidelines:

  • Hydration: Carry water. It’s recommended to have 1 liter for each hour of activity.
  • Dress Smart: Wear sturdy walking shoes, a protective hat, and long sleeves. Opting for bright colors is suggested for visibility and safety.
  • Tools: Bring along gloves to ensure safe handling during the cleanup.

Perks for Volunteers:

To express gratitude for their commitment, park admission fees will be waived for all volunteers participating in the event.
