West Texas Gears Up for 20th Marathon 2 Marathon: A Scenic Race for a Cause, All Set for October 21, 2023

Runners from all walks of life are lacing up their shoes to join the 20th Marathon 2 Marathon (M2M) in West Texas on Saturday, October 21, 2023. This community-fueled event has become the pride of this small town, drawing close to 500 racers to a course set in the dry, cool, high desert climate.

From a champagne toast to spectators cheering on their favorite racers, the M2M is not just a race, but a community celebration. With a range of options available including marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k, the event offers something for both the seasoned marathoner and the casual runner.

The marathon is recognized as a Boston Marathon qualifying race, attracting serious competitors from near and far. The course, though isolated on a highway, offers spectacular scenery with gradual downhill slopes and low traffic. Participants will be racing alongside cars, as the highway remains open during the event, and racers are reminded to stay on the east shoulder of the road.

The race is not only known for its unique course but also for its commitment to the community. 100% of the proceeds go towards supporting the local health center, school, and fire department.

Preparations are in full swing, with water stations set every two miles and buses organized to take runners to the start lines. Runners must register in advance, as no registrations will be accepted on the day of the race. A detailed schedule for the race starts, and bus pickups are available on the event’s website at www.marathon2marathon.com.
