A Brewster County Deputy apprehended a man on Sunday afternoon after discovering a truck and trailer on Highway 385, North of Marathon, carrying three illegal aliens from Mexico. The driver, identified as James Eric Larremore, was taken into custody after further investigation revealed a hidden compartment in the trailer, containing the undocumented individuals. Additionally, law enforcement found methamphetamine and $12,000 in cash concealed in the truck’s console.
Larremore now faces multiple felony charges, including three counts of smuggling of persons and possession of a controlled substance. He was subsequently booked into the Brewster County Jail. The three Mexican suspects were handed over to US Border Patrol Agents for further processing.
The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office commended the deputy for their vigilant efforts in combating human smuggling and drug-related activities. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in border regions.
