Crows Nest Ranch & Campground: A Rustic Retreat in the Heart of West Texas

Located 18 miles southwest of historic Fort Davis, Crows Nest Ranch & Campground offers visitors a true West Texas experience with majestic views, abundant wildlife, and outdoor adventures. The ranch sits 6,000 feet above sea level on a mountainside on the Old Spanish Trail, making it a prime location for tourists visiting Big Bend country.

Crows Nest Ranch & Campground offers a variety of accommodations including three rustic cabins, RV sites with full hook-ups, and picnic shelters for camping. Each cabin has a double and a queen-sized bed with basic furnishings, and full kitchens modestly equipped with cooking utensils and tableware. There’s also a bathhouse in the campground and a small laundry for guests to use.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, nature, and stargazing opportunities, while birders and artists can find their paradise in the rich variety of birds and wildlife that can be seen around the ranch. There are no official trails but guests can hike around the ranch roads and game trails without crossing onto neighboring lands.

The Old Spanish Trail Gallery and Museum is a five-star fine art gallery featuring representational art from nationally known artists. The museum displays pieces of the ranch’s long history and is open every day by appointment only. Visitors can also attend workshops and special gallery events upon request.

Crows Nest Ranch & Campground is a family-owned and operated facility that has been in the same family since 1905. Roxa Medley Robison and her daughter Besa Robison Martin fulfilled a lifelong dream by building the Old Spanish Trail Gallery and Museum in 2016.
