The historic Comanche Springs Pool in Fort Stockton will open to the public for several days during spring break with free admission, giving residents and visitors a chance to swim in one of the region’s most iconic spring-fed pools.
According to a post from the pool’s official social media page, the facility will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 11–14.
The pool, located at 200 W. Spring St., sits at the site of the once-famous Comanche Springs, which historically supplied water to the area and helped shape the development of Fort Stockton.
City officials are promoting the spring break opening as a family-friendly opportunity for students and visitors to enjoy the large outdoor pool during the school holiday.
Comanche Springs Pool has long been a summer gathering place for the Pecos County community, with its distinctive pool deck marked by blue stars and a layout built around the historic springs that once flowed through the site.
Admission during the spring break opening days will be free, and swimmers are encouraged to attend during the afternoon operating hours.
