Marfa100 Cycling Event Returns October 17, 2026 With 100K and 50K Rides

The Marfa100 cycling event is scheduled to return on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, offering riders a long-distance 100K race and a 50K fun ride through the high desert surrounding Marfa.

Registration for the Marfa100 is currently open through RunSignUp, with the 100K race entry priced at $135. Registration closes at 9 a.m. CDT on race day. The event is open to cyclists of all experience levels, with competitive and recreational options available.

Organizers note that October is a busy time in Marfa and encourage participants to plan lodging early. Short-term rentals typically open bookings in 90-day windows, and race staff have indicated they will assist riders with information when possible.

Race Options and Course Details

The 100K race is a timed, out-and-back course with a turnaround near mile marker 31 and approximately 2,800 feet of total elevation gain. Aid stations with water and snacks will be available at miles 10, 20, and 31. Awards will be presented to overall winners and the top three finishers in each age category. Overall male, female, non-binary, and paracycling winners will receive custom Marfa100 winner jerseys.

The 50K fun ride features a turnaround at mile marker 16 and includes a fully stocked aid station at the turnaround point. Riders log their own time using their phones and upload results through RunSignUp. E-bikes and other alternative person-powered transportation methods are permitted in this category.

Both race options include an event T-shirt, post-ride lunch and drinks, aid station support, and access to local discounts and coupons.

Paracycling and Local Discounts

Paracyclists interested in competing in either event are encouraged to contact organizers in advance by email at marfa100k@gmail.com.

Tri-county residents may also qualify for a local rider discount by contacting the same email address.

Community Support

The Marfa100 is generously supported by the City of Marfa, according to event organizers, and has become a recurring fall draw for cyclists visiting the region.
