TMPA Names Darrell Losoya as Full-Time West Texas Field Representative

The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) has announced the appointment of Darrell Losoya as its new full-time West Texas Field Representative, expanding the organization’s on-the-ground support for law enforcement officers across the region.

In a statement released this week, TMPA highlighted Losoya’s nearly 35 years of law enforcement experience, including many years of service with the Alpine Police Department. According to the association, his background brings a combination of leadership, practical experience, and long-standing advocacy for officers in the field.

TMPA represents thousands of law enforcement professionals statewide, providing legal protection, training resources, and legislative advocacy. Field representatives play a key role in supporting officers directly, serving as a liaison between members, the association, and leadership at both the regional and state levels.

“West Texas officers will be well served,” TMPA stated in its announcement, emphasizing Losoya’s track record of standing with officers “when it matters most.”

Losoya’s new role is full-time and focused exclusively on West Texas, a geographically large and diverse region where departments often operate with limited staffing and resources. TMPA indicated that having a dedicated field representative in the area strengthens support for officers facing professional, legal, and operational challenges.

The association encouraged members and supporters to welcome Losoya as he steps into the role, noting his deep familiarity with policing in rural and small-community settings.

TMPA frequently works with officers, agencies, and policymakers across Texas to address issues affecting law enforcement, including officer safety, professional standards, and legislative priorities.
