Fundraiser Launched for Terlingua Family After Storm Destroys Home

A community fundraiser is underway to help a local family rebuild after a powerful July storm destroyed their home.

According to the GoFundMe campaign, Rudy and Vanessa Villa Hernandez, along with their children Rodolfo, 13, and Estefania, 8, lost their house and all of their belongings on July 20 when severe weather swept through the area. The family escaped without injury but is now staying with relatives while they work to recover.

Organizer Lorena Palma said donations will help the family replace essentials and begin the process of rebuilding their home and lives. The campaign describes the effort as a way to restore both shelter and hope for the Villa Hernandez family.

The fundraiser, titled Help Rudy, Vanessa, and Kids Start Anew, is accepting contributions online.
