Jeff Davis County Sheriff Alejandro Lopez visited Fort Davis High School this week to speak with students about law enforcement procedures, individual rights, and what to expect during a traffic stop.
The presentation aimed to foster open dialogue and improve understanding between students and law enforcement. Sheriff Lopez emphasized the importance of respectful interaction and community trust, stating, “We want young people to feel safe, respected, and informed.”
Students participated actively, asking questions and sharing perspectives. The event also included representatives from the Fort Davis Fire Department, Fort Davis EMS, and Justice of the Peace Mary Ann Luedecke.
