The Museum of the Big Bend will host an opening reception for its new historical photo exhibit, Snapshots in Time: Life in Brewster County, on Wednesday, April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The exhibit, curated by local historian Matt Walter, features photographs from the Brewster County Collections and the Archives of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University. It captures everyday moments, landscapes, and community events that reflect the rich cultural and historical heritage of Far West Texas.
The reception will include light hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live music, and presentations.
This exhibit is presented in partnership with Crossroads: Change in Rural America, part of the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibition series. Collaborators include the Museum of the Big Bend, Historic Alpine, Texas Mountain Trail, Brewster County, Visit Alpine Texas, and the Texas Historical Commission.
