Renovation of Former Fort Davis Outfitters Building to Create Jeff Davis Community Center

The transformation of the former Fort Davis Outfitters building into the new Jeff Davis Community Center is set to begin on September 1, 2024. Located at 601 East Cemetery Rd, Fort Davis, TX 79734, the project is scheduled for completion by May 1, 2025. The estimated cost for this endeavor is $2,500,000.

The renovation will encompass a total area of 10,000 square feet, converting the existing facility into a modern community center. This project is being undertaken with public funds and involves public land.

The Jeff Davis Community Center will serve as a pivotal venue for local events, gatherings, and activities, providing a dedicated space for community engagement and development. The extensive renovation work aims to repurpose the former retail space into a functional and welcoming facility for the residents of Jeff Davis County.
