Take a journey with Ranger Layla to uncover what makes the Rio Grande River so spectacular! This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Big Bend Ranch State Park.
This hike is designed to explore an iconic feature of the landscape, the Rio Grande River, and its significance to survival in the desert. The hike will cover approximately one mile and will have some inclines and rock climbing.
To make the most of your experience, be sure to bring sunscreen, water, and snacks. Wear comfortable clothing, close-toed shoes, and a hat to ensure a comfortable and safe hike.
Participants will meet at the Hoodoos Trailhead, located approximately 25 miles west of Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 25 miles east of Fort Leaton State Historic Site.
This event is free with park admission, which is also free with a Texas Parks Pass. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the beauty and importance of the Rio Grande River.
